The new ad of Supermarket Asda features Will Ferrell's Buddy the Elf navigating his way in a superstore
Supermarket ASDA is alluding to nostalgia among the locals by bringing back one of the most beloved movie characters.
The supermarket released a new advertisement pertaining to the upcoming holiday season on Friday, Nov. 4.
The advert featured a call back to Will Ferrell’s 2003 flick titled Elf as he joins the ASDA team amid the time of festivities.
According to WalesOnline, the advert is set to Santa Claus is Comin' to Town and sees classic film footage merged with newly-filmed scenes.
Sam Dickson, Acting Chief Customer Officer at Asda said: "Like Buddy, we absolutely love Christmas – so we’re thrilled to welcome him to our team. We know this has been a tough year for so many people, which is why we want to create some little moments of joy for families this year with our Christmas campaign, and more importantly, our amazing products.
"We hope that with a little bit of help from Buddy, our joy-filled Christmas offering will create some festive magic and helps give families a Christmas to remember together."
