Euphoria creator Sam Levinon has finally revealed where the HBO stands today after season three’s finale was aired on HBO on May 31.
The show’s creator recently announced on Popcast, New York Times’ music podcast that after seven years, three seasons and 26 episodes, Euphoria is official over.
It is pertinent to mention that HBO also confirmed Sam’s announcement to Variety.
The news came after the female protagonist Zendaya shared in her latest interviews that the show was ending after Season 3.
Earlier in 2024, Variety reported that the production on season three faced major delays.
To this, Sam told the Times that he writes “every season like it’s the last”.
However, Francesca Orsi, executive VP HBO programming, head of HBO drama series and films, lately spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and dished out the real reason about years-long delay.
“It was important that everyone felt season three was moving the story forward in a meaningful and ambitious way,” she continued.
Francesca further said, “When Sam began sharing how much more expansive the world of the show would feel this season, there was genuine excitement about returning.”
Interestingly, when Sam was asked about a fourth season, he spilled to the Times, “I don’t know.”
“As of right now, all I want to do is hang out with my wife and kids and read some Elmore Leonard and watch ‘Mrs. Miniver’ again,” added the show’s creator.
