MobLand bosses recently made bombshell decision following the exit of Tom Hardy from the show.
The British actor was reportedly dismissed from Guy Ritchie production after a “furious bust-up” with producers last week, claimed the show’s creators.
However, the Paramount+ bosses decided to change the second series finale as Tom won’t return for the show’s third series.
This set the production company back a huge sum worth millions of dollars to re-shoot scenes.
A source revealed to The Sun, “The role is pivotal to the story, so he can't just disappear in season three — there has to be some sort of explanation for his absence.”
“That means they will have to alter the end of the second series, which has only just been made — and that will cost millions in extra time spent developing, filming and editing,” they explained.
However, another insider shared that it’s not clear if “Tom will even return to film any new scenes or whether the producers are just going to have to be incredibly creative in tying up the second series”.
“And then they've got to start thinking about the overwhelming prospect of delivering series three,” mentioned a source.
A third source close to the show alleged that Tom was late and forced to change dialogues during filming.
Some claimed that the actor was annoyed to learn that the show “was becoming more about his costars Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan”.
