If you have ever wondered how the ants residing in different corners of our houses look up close, you needn’t wonder anymore.
A rather terrifying image of the face of a regular ant all zoomed in was submitted for the Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition 2022 held last week.
Captured by a photographer names Eugenijus Kavaliaukas, the impressive image was awarded an “image of distinction” prize by the competition.
Since then, the picture has been released to the general public, and people are horrified.
“I did a literal spit take, what the [expletive],” a user wrote on Twitter above the close-up photo.
“There are millions of them surrounding your house RIGHT. NOW,” another recounted, while the third suggested, “We need an animal horror film revival.”
“I didn’t wanna ever sleep again,” the fourth wrote.
