Jessica Biel recently addressed viral parenting trend that help them deal with toddler’s tantrums.

The Candy actress turned to Instagram Stories on April 9 and reshared a series of videos showing some parents are using distraction technique to help pacify their children’s emotional meltdown.

In the clips, it is seen that some parents start calling out the name ‘Jessica’ to distract the child from throwing tantrum and it does work wonders in most of the cases.

Jessica, who shares two sons with husband Justin Timberlake, also wrote a playful caption to one of the clips, “You rang?”

The trend that made social media buzzing was not only used on toddlers but in rare cases, this has been used on a dog as well.

In a third clip shared by The Sinner actress, a golden retriever runs around with a toy before suddenly stopping, dropping it and looking toward the camera after hearing the name of ‘Jessica’ called out.

The actress also shared pediatrician’s comments on the new trend, who believed that it can be a helpful form of distraction when used appropriately.

Dr Mona pointed out, “Young kids can get stuck in a loop. Their brains are flooded, their attention gets glued to the upset and they often cannot shift gears on their own.”

“A playful or neutral interruption can help break that loop just enough for their nervous system to soften,” she explained.

However, the peds expressed concerns, saying, “What makes something feel dismissive is not simply that it shifts attention.”

“It is when a child learns, ‘My feelings are inconvenient, so grown-ups make them go away,’” she wrote.
