Bill Skarsgard and Lily-Rose Depp are going to star in Robert Eggers’ reimagining of Nosferatu.

According to Deadline, Bill Skarsgard has been confirmed to play the central character, while Lily-Rose Depp is still in talks to star.

Nosferatu was a 1922 unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, a gothic tale of passion between a haunted young woman (Depp) and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard), who ardently seeks her to be with him eternally.

Robert Eggers has penned the script and is also going to direct the film.

The movie is produced by Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Robert Eggers, Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus.

Eggers was going to star Anya Taylor-Joy and Harry Styles in Nosferatu in 2019 and had a different production house, Studio 8.

Due to budget issues, Eggers pushed the project ahead and went on to direct the Vikings movie, The Northman. Eggers resumed work on Nosferatu when Focus Features came on board to represent the film.
