Johnny Depp’s girlfriend Joelle Rich was once Meghan Markle’s lawyer: Deets inside

Johnny Depp’s rumoured girlfriend Joelle Rich was reportedly Meghan Markle’s lawyer as well in a high-profile case in 2021.

According to Page Six, the London-based attorney once represented Markle in the Duchess of Sussex’s case against Associated Newspapers, which owns the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday.

In October 2019, the 41-year-old sued the British tabloid for publishing a private letter Markle wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle.

Rich was a part of Schillings law firm that helped Markle won the case in December 2021.

The court ruled that the “publication of the letter breached the Suits alum’s privacy and was unlawful”.

The outlet cited Markle’s statement as she said, “This is a victory not just for me, but for anyone who has ever felt scared to stand up for what’s right.”

“Tomorrow it could be you. These harmful practices don’t happen once in a blue moon — they are a daily failure that divide us, and we all deserve better,” she commented.

The court ordered the Mail on Sunday to “pay damages and print a front-page apology to the Duchess of Sussex.

Meanwhile, Rich also helped Depp in his US libel lawsuit against The Sun, which he eventually lost in November 2020.
