Blade Runner 2099 is on the run to Amazon.

"Blade Runner 2099," a live-action limited series, was first mentioned as being in development at the streamer back in February. Ridley Scott first made the show's development known in November 2021.

Although the specifics of the plot are being kept under wraps, it is clear from the title that the series will take place fifty years after the events of "Blade Runner 2049," the 2017 prequel to the original "Blade Runner."

Showrunner and executive producer Silka Luisa is joined by Ridley Scott, who produces under his Scott Free Productions company.

Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, Alcon's president of television Ben Roberts, David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger of Scott Free, Cynthia Yorkin, Frank Giustra, and Isa Dick Hackett will all executive produce alongside "Blade Runner 2049" co-writer Michael Green.

In addition to joining the writer’s room, Tom Spezialy will also act as executive producer.
