The Karate Kid alum Ralph Macchio has seemed to age like a slow turtle.
Ralph Macchio gently responds "no," when asked if people "lose their minds" when they learn how old he is. People might be "a little surprised," but nonetheless.
In a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, actor Ralph Macchio—who is making a comeback to the world of The Karate Kid in the most recent season of Netflix's Cobra Kai—joked about looking young at 60, referring to himself as a "man child freak," and discussed what it means to him that his iconic '80s movie role is still remembered by people today.
"I knew it was beloved, and that the character was beloved," he said.
"But to see it explode like this, it's multigenerational... I mean we have 10, 12-year old kids and people in their 60s and 70s and they're all watching the same show.”
He further added, “It equal parts nostalgia and now contemporary relevance. It's crazy."
In addition to Cobra Kai now starting its fifth season, Madonna is back at the top of the charts, and Tom Cruise's eagerly anticipated #1 Gun sequel is currently the top movie, as noted by Jimmy Kimmel.
"It's comfort food, it's what we love," Macchio remarked.
"And when the stories are well-executed, or the album is well-executed, or the movie, the series, it becomes smart when you can reach all those audiences."
He continued by expressing his continued gratitude for the opportunity to play Daniel in Cobra Kai at this point in his career.
