Christian Bale is set to step into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a villain in Thor: Love and Thunder. However, it seems that he had a lot to catch up on.

During an interview with Total Film, Bale claimed that he "had to ask" what the Marvel Cinematic Universe was.

Upon being asked if he had any plans on playing another comic book character after Batman, the actor replied, "Absolutely not, no. That didn't even enter into my head at all."

He added, "I'd read that, and people would go, 'Oh, look at this! He's entered the MCU!' And I'd go, 'I've done what? I haven't entered [expletive], thank you very much.' I'm like, 'The MCU?' I had to ask what that was."

The Dark Knight star will make his Marvel debut as Gorr the God Butcher in the upcoming Thor film directed by Taika Waititi. The Academy Award winner will share the screen with Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and more.
