WWE stars pay touching tributes to former wrestler Melissa Coates as she dies at the age of 50 due to health issues.

The news of her death was confirmed by her friend on social media which left fans in disbelief.

According to The Mirror, news of her death was broken by a friend/colleague who penned a note on Facebook saying, “This may be the hardest post I have ever made… Just got word from Terry “Sabu” Brunk that Super Genie Melissa Coates has passed away this afternoon.”

It was claimed that the WWE wrestler got a leg amputation done last year because of blood clots. As yet the exact reason for her death is undisclosed.

Melissa made her wrestling debut in 2002, and became associated with WWE in 2005, with the Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental region.

The wrestler had been managing Sabu since 2014, and was known by the title ‘Super Genie.’

Veteran star Lance Storm came forward on social media to salute Melissa’s kind spirit and talent, "Saddened to hear of Melissa Coates’ passing tonight. I didn’t know her that well, but I worked with her some during my time in OVW."

Her Instagram was filled with condolences on her sudden, shocking demise.
