Gaten Matarazzo shares rare details about girlfriend Elizabeth Yu

Gaten Matarazzo has opened up about the secret behind his long lasting romance with girlfriend Elizabeth Yu after nearly eight years together.

During his latest appearance, the Stranger Things star reflected on maintaining their relationship since they were teenagers.

In a recent sit-down on Dear Chelsea, host Chelsea Handler joked, “I can't believe you've survived this long with your relationship from that young age.”

“Survive is a funny word. We communicate really, really well,” he said.

He explained, “A big key to it is thriving through distance,” noting that while long distance can be difficult for many couples, they have found stability by always returning to the same home base.

“Anytime we go and travel for work, we know we're coming back to each other here in the city,” he added.

However, the actor shared that despite their strong bond, the pair are not living together at the moment, choosing to stay “very close to each other.”

The host quickly quipped, “Okay well, that might be another reason why it's working out so well.”

For the unversed, Matarazzo and Yu began their relationship in 2018.
