Will Meghan Markle secure her UK citizenship after Megxit?

It has been a year since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have left the royal family and some people wondering if this step might affect Meghan's application for UK citizenship.

According to the UK government website, Meghan had to spend three years with her spouse in order to secure nationality. However, things took a 360-degree turn when the couple decided to move to the US in 2020.

Meghan moved to London in Nov.2017. For her to complete a 3-year mark, she had to continue staying in the UK till fall 2020.

But the couple has 'no regrets.'

A source revealed,"[They] feel very rewarded from their work," referring to their foundation, Archewell.

"They love that they are able to focus on projects and causes that are important to them." A source close to the prince also revealed: "It was always their dream to be financially independent and pay their own way. [2020] started out with a lot of excitement and anticipation. Harry was finally doing what he'd wanted to do for years, and to have Meghan and [20-month-old son] Archie with him was all he could have asked for," the source concluded.
