Niall Horan is opening up about former bandmate Liam Payne’s passing through a moving new single.
In the song End of an Era, the 32-year-old looked back on their shared past and the feeling of time slipping away.
“We had it, pure magic / Remember what it was like / Time passes so fast that / I couldn’t tell you goodbye,” he sings in the first verse.
He continues the reflection with lines about youth and time passing, describing “careless times” and the emotional shift from innocence to loss.
For the unversed, the late One Direction member died in October 2024 at the age of 31 after falling from a third floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Following his death, the Irish singer described the loss as “heartbreaking” and said it “just doesn’t feel real,” praising the deceased’s energy and warmth.
Moreover, he reminisced on their final meeting, saying Payne seemed “in good form” during a recent visit, before later learning of his death while at home in shock and disbelief.
