Christopher Nolan decided to unleash the actress playing the character of Helen in the upcoming Odyssey.
After the 55-year-old filmmaker revealed Lupita Nyong’o to be playing Helen, Elon Musk slammed the choice and criticised him.
According to the businessman, Christopher “lost his integrity” for having diverse stars in the project, a move which was surprisingly praised by the online community.
A debate sparked online about the situation with one X user supporting his statement: “Would it be okay for a white woman to play Michele Obama in a movie? No, it would be silly. That’s the point.”
Another netizen was of the opinion that the project is “just another woke film I will never give a dime too,” while a third pointed out: “Not a single Greek in a movie about Greeks is … hilarious.”
It is to be noted the movie has been called out previously for its casting differences as it features Lupita, Travis Scott and Elliot Page, who is rumoured to play a distinctive character in the show.
The project sees Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Anne Hathaway in the lead where the story revolves around Odysseus (king of Ithaca) and his journey back home after the Trojan war.
