Netflix's latest thriller I Will Find You has become the streaming platform's No. 1 series worldwide after delivering one of the biggest debuts of the year.

Based on Harlan Coben's 2023 novel the eight-episode limited series premiered on June 18 with all episodes released at once.

According to Collider the show pulled in 85 million views in a single week making it Netflix's top-ranked series globally.

The thriller had already made headlines within days of its release with Variety reporting it became Netflix's biggest new series debut of 2026 after attracting 24 million views in its first four days.

Starring Sam Worthington as David Burroughs the story follows a former law professor serving a life sentence after being wrongfully convicted of murdering his young son.

The cast also includes Britt Lower, Milo Ventimiglia, Erin Richards, Jonathan Tucker, Madeleine Stowe, and Clancy Brown.

Despite the show's massive success Coben has poured cold water on hopes for a second season.

"Probably not," the bestselling author told TV Insider. "It's always with the intention of never writing these characters again. It's not fair to ask people to watch eight episodes of a series and wait two years for season 2. So everything is kind of answered."

However he didn't completely rule out revisiting the story.

"I never say never," Coben added. "If we somehow came up with a storyline that would be as good as this one for these characters, I would tell it... but I'd rather do a new story."

While critics have given the series mixed reviews audience interest has remained strong, helping I Will Find You become one of Netflix's biggest streaming successes of 2026.
