Jennifer Aniston’s real reason to exit ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died’ show laid bare

Jennifer Aniston recently revealed the real reason behind her exit from upcoming TV series, I’m Glad My Mom Died.

A TMZ report confirmed the Friends alum departure from Jennette McCurdy’s TV adaptation of her best-selling memoir.

A source close to Aniston, who was set to play McCurdy’s mother told the outlet the actress “backed out due to scheduling conflicts,” even though scripts are still in the process.

In 2025, Variety reported that the series will premiere at Apple TV, showcasing the “heartbreaking and hilarious recounting of McCurdy’s struggles as a former child actor while dealing with her overbearing, domineering mother (formerly Aniston)”.

“The dramedy will focus on the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid’s show, and her narcissistic mother who relishes in her identity as ‘a starlet’s mother,’” read the plotline.

TMZ shared that prior to Aniston, director Jason Reitman also stepped away from the project due to alleged creative differences with McCurdy.

Meanwhile, the actress is expected to make an appearance with her boyfriend Jim Curtis to help him promote his book.
