OTHER MOMMY’s trailer raised eyebrows as fans believe it draws inspiration from an iconic animated movie.
The horror movie, which is releasing on October 9, features Jessica Chastain, Arabella Olivia Clark, Jay Duplass and others in the cast.
As the plot of the film revolves around a monster who haunts a young girl while looking exactly like her, fans were immediately reminded about the famous Coraline.
The family horror came out in 2009 which was based on a dark fantasy novel written by Neil Gaiman, exploring the adventures of the titular character being drawn in to a parallel world.
After the trailer was shared across several social media platforms, a netizen penned down: “Oh Caroline they in your nachos.”
Another netizen shared a scary GIF from the animation, captioning about the upcoming project: “They took a Caroline plot and went crazy with it.”
Fans admitted they are seated for the release as one of the users on X noted that they like to think they are “desensitized to most jump scares;” however, the “table scene totally got me.”
The 2009 movie was a commercial success as it grossed over $228 million internationally after its original run against a budget of $60 million budget.
