Miley Cyrus’ ex-flame Cody Simpson recently shared shocking health update weeks after he retuned to music in March.
The singer turned to Instagram on May 11 and revealed that he’s dealing with serious vocal cord injury.
“It occurred due to my overzealousness in the studio singing through a sinus infection I didn’t know I had,” began the 29-year-old in the caption as she posted a photo of himself sitting somewhere in the doctor’s office.
Cody recalled that he thought “it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing”.
The Australian star opened up that he had to cancel TV and radio performances during this period.
“This has also affected my ability to complete the album and polish up the next singles,” explained Cody.
Therefore, the singer disclosed that the doctors has prescribed him “another two weeks of silence in hopes of avoiding a surgery which demands a much longer recovery process”.
However, the musician mentioned that he’s been trying to keep himself busy as he’s writing “strictly as a lyricist on mute with my collaborators, and hearing/writing my vocal melodies on my guitar (which I will eventually replace with my voice when I’m able to)”.
Cody believed, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
He added, “I’ve been extremely up and down but am now reframing this as a realignment for the long-term good.”
Meanwhile, fans continued to shower him with their love in the comment section.
One wrote, “I've got a feeling magic is gonna happen in the next couple of weeks. Rest easy and be gentle with yourself.”
Another remarked, “Rest easy, champion. You’ll be back on deck soon enough.”
