Katy Perry turns heads with sly nod to ex Josh Groban's engagement

Katy Perry responded in a lighthearted way after learning Josh Groban is engaged to theatre performer Natalie McQueen, following their brief 2009 relationship.

The singer sparked online chatter after a playful clip of her reacting to The One That Got Away resurfaced past comments linking the track to Josh.

Addressing the viral moment on Watch What Happens Live in September 2018, Josh said he didn’t expect Katy’s comments to resurface in that way.

He said, “I was not expecting that. That was a double take and a spit of my coffee when I saw that. It’s very sweet of her to say that. I’m very flattered by it. But I was very surprised by it too.”

Moreover, he added, “I listened to the lyrics of the song. And I’m like, ‘I never owned a Mustang. I don’t have a tattoo. Are you sure that’s about me?’”

Looking back on their split, he clarified their relationship ended on good terms, saying, “We were both very private and we realized we were better as friends and we’ve been very, very good friends to this day. She’s the best.”

Furthermore, he revealed at the time, “I think we’re both very taken at the moment, but it’s very sweet.”

For the unversed, the ex-couple split in August 2016 after dating for two years.
