Janet Jackson turned a milestone career moment into a powerful plea for peace during her latest rare public outing.

During the 2026 GRAMMY Hall of Fame Gala, the pop legend was honoured as Rhythm Nation 1814 secured its place among music’s most influential works.

Speaking on the accolade, she shared gratitude for the project’s lasting impact.

“It’s beautiful to relive the memories attached to this project that is so, so precious to me,” she said.

“Though I don’t see Rhythm Nation as a phenomenon that lived in the past. I believe it’s alive and well in 2026.”

Rather than focusing solely on the honour, she used the platform to promote the album’s deeper mission of unity and understanding.

“It’s an ongoing force that fights bigotry and promotes understanding. It cannot be stopped. It’s simply too strong and too positive,” she mentioned.

The singer further stressed her hope for a better future, adding, “More than ever, my hope is that we might live in a world free of fear and despair.”

Notably, the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala was held on May 8 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
