Brooke Shields has shared the wild moment she was chased out of the sea by an angry monkey while filming in Thailand and her daughter watched the whole thing unfold from a boat in shock.
The 60-year-old actress was attending Animal Haven’s 2026 Benefit for the Animals in New York with daughter Rowan Henchy when the pair opened up about the bizarre holiday drama.
Rowan revealed her mum’s love of animals may have gone a bit too far during the trip.
She explained that Brooke had been swimming near an island while working on a movie in Thailand when she decided to get close to a monkey roaming nearby.
But instead of making a furry new friend, the animal suddenly turned aggressive.
Rowan laughed as she recalled: “Then the monkey attacked her and we had to quickly get off the island. I watched from the boat. I was like, ‘There she goes. There she goes.’”
The Blue Lagoon actress joked she had never moved so fast in her life.
“I've never seen anybody swim faster,” she laughed, adding that she tried to calm the monkey down by offering it bananas.
But Rowan quickly pointed out the monkey had other plans.
“It doesn’t want a banana. It wants to get you off its island,” she teased.
Despite the chaos, Pretty Baby star insisted the monkey was still “very happy” to grab the bananas.
The funny family moment also showed the close bond Brooke shares with daughters Rowan and Grier Henchy.
