Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey has dropped new thrilling and intense star-studded trailer.
The film based on adaptation of Homer’s Greek epic, stars Matt Damon in lead role as King Odysseus of Itheca, who is on his way home after winning the battle of Troy.
Through his 10 year journey he comes across many obstacles, battling with Cyclops and many other gods and mystical creatures.
Meanwhile in Itheca, his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) eagerly wait for his return. They also face difficulties when Robert Pattinson’s villainous Antinous tries to take the throne of Ithaca.
In addition to these A-list actors, the rest of star-studded cast included, Zendaya as goddess of wisdom, Athena; and Charlize Theron as goddess of witchcraft, Circe.
The enormous cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Jimmy Gonzales, Elliot Page and Jovan Adepo and many more.
As soon as the trailer went viral, fans on social media shared their mixed reviews on it.
Few were unsatisfied and disappointed, as one wrote, “nothing about this shows any taste. the shots, visual design, the dialogue, the sound. hopefully ill be wrong but it seems like someone tried to make a 2010s template film on the odyssey.”
“This doesn’t look like The Odyssey. The actors don’t look Greek. It looks like Hollywood stars playing dress-up,” another viewer argued.
Few even pointed out the that there was something wrong with the dialogues.
Meanwhile, other enjoyed the trailer, with one fan adding, “Yeah, The Odyssey looks as incredible as we all thought it would be. Nolan has cooked as usual!”
“The music, the drama, the acting… chills all over. I can sense an incoming blockbuster from Christopher Nolan,” wrote another one.
Nolan’s blockbuster The Odyssey is slated for release on July 17.
