Kenneth Branagh shared his thoughts on directing the Thor film once again.

Branagh, directed 2011 Marvel movie starring Chris Hemsworth.

In an interview with the Business Insider, the Death on the Nile star said, “Part of me would love to finish my relationship with that character.”

He said that he always wanted to work on more of its film since he had a “couple of ideas, more in the territory of James Mangold’s brilliant ‘Logan.’”

“I would love to see Chris Hemsworth and the others have their own individual final story that takes ‘Thor’ into a glorious twilight,” he added.

Branagh went on to say that despite being asked, he chose not to return as the director for the sequels.

He was for sure ready for them but not during that time. He explained that after Marvel’s intense shoots and even more intense preproduction, he needed break some time.

The original film was followed by lan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World in 2013 before Taika Waititi took over as director for Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).

About the sequels, the Oscar winner watched them with “a mix of tremendous pride and amazement at the many ways such stories can go.”

He concluded, “They are so far deep into the future of the Marvel Universe that I’m sure whatever plans they have for it are already kind of set.”

He ended on the note, that there was something meaningful and beautiful about bringing the stories, characters and actors’ journey to a conclusion.
