Aline Brosh faced challenges because of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2': Here's why

Aline Bhrosh, who was the screenwriter for the hit movie The Devil Wears Prada, was hesitant when it came to first came to the sequel.

The filmmaker has worked on the original movie and now the sequel but has also addressed why she felt challenged by the installment.

She also added that one of the main leads, Meryl Streep, made it easier for her when she got onboard with the initial idea.

She stated, “Meryl’s opinion is enormously important, When she said she would be open to hearing some ideas, by that point, we had accumulated a lot of them,”

The 58-year-old added, “The world has just changed so much in 20 years,” expressing her concern and how difficult it felt to continue the 20-year-old story now after two decades.

She also continued as she opened up about the stress that came with the developing story, worrying her that the main idea which Meryl agreed upon might get mixed up.

Aline revealed she contacted director David Frankel as the ideas were put together so that the concept could stay the same and not change much.

It is to be noted that the movie was released on May 1st, 2026.
