Johnny Depp joins hands with Imelda May for Shane MacGowan's tribute

Johnny Depp recently switched professions as he paid an emotional tribute to the late British-Irish singer, Shane MacGowan.

The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor collaborated with Imelda May on the reimagined version of song, Haunted.

The track was originally made by Shane MacGowan & Sinéad O'Connor in 1995 with a romantic and upbeat folk-pop vibe to it.

Now the remade version that is specially made to honor the late song makers has a somber vibe to it but as per fans’ opinion, it holds the original touch.

Notably, this effort by the 51-year-old and the Golden Globe Award winner was made to protect the legacy of the singer, who passed away in 2023.

For the unversed, Johnny shared a deep friendship with Shane for 30 years and often visited the lyricist’s home in Ireland to be with his family as well.

Apart from that, the track is also a part of a tribute project, 20th Century Paddy tribute, for the late poet by his wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, and her manager, John Kennedy.

They had organised up to 30 songs and were inspired by an idea that Shane had and wanted to work on, in his lifetime but wasn’t able to do so.
