Ana de Armas, who is working on multiple projects this year, finally received good results for her flop movie, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.

The movie that premiered in June 2025 was initially a “struggling flop” as it earned $140 million worldwide.

It is to be noted that the spin-off had a production budget of $90 million as it was also on top of the list for female-directed films.

Now, after a disappointing box office debut, the movie is trending at the #1 spot on HBO Max for several weeks now.

Notably, at first it was described as a “troubled spin-off” and a “trashy plot”, as now the praise includes it being called a Must-Watch for the John Wick franchise’s fans because it completes the storyline.

It is also said that the latest installment has become a dominant cultural force on streaming after its launch on the streaming platform on March 27, 2026.

For the unversed, Ana starred as the young woman, Eve Macarro, who seeks revenge for her father’s death and navigates how to hunt down the murderer and the leader of a dangerous assassin cult.

The action thriller featured the 37-year-old doing all her stunts on her own after extensive training of six months.
