Olivia Rodrigo surprises fans with new single amid album release

Olivia Rodrigo, who recently released a new song, drop dead, surprised her fans with a new move.

The track is the lead single from her upcoming album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, which is set to be released on June 12, 2026.

Now, the songwriter held a invite-only show at The Echo on Friday, April 24, where she stunned her fans with one of the new tracks for her project.

Notably, the lucky few who were able to hear what the forthcoming music of the songstress will sound like, described the song as a “heartbreaking, haunting ballad” and has an “indie-folk sound” to it.

It is to be noted that the track is a duet with American singer, Weyes Blood, known for her popular 2019 work, Titanic Rising.

The supporters of the 23-year-old are looking forward to the album as she has previously launched hits like SOUR, which was premiered in 2021 and 2023’s GUTS.

The album is said to have 13 tracks, although nothing has been confirmed officially.

For the unversed, the first track from the album was a hit as it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it her career’s fourth chart-topping song.
