Hollywood star Michael B. Jordan is heading into battle in a big way after being linked to a high-octane film adaptation of the hit gaming franchise Battlefield.
The 39-year-old Oscar-winning actor is set to team up with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, who will write, direct and produce the project, according to reports.
Jordan is expected to produce the film too, and could even end up starring on the frontline.
The movie is based on Battlefield, the hugely popular first-person shooter series developed by Electronic Arts, which has been blowing up consoles since its debut in 2002.
The franchise is known for its massive war zones, explosive set pieces and intense multiplayer battles.
Insiders say McQuarrie and his team have already been pitching the project around Hollywood, with big players like Apple and Sony reportedly in the mix.
A theatrical release is being pushed as the priority, with streaming platforms still circling.
The Battlefield games originally kicked off with Battlefield 1942, set during World War II, and most recently expanded with Battlefield 6, released last year.
The Sinners actor isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
He’s also lined up to star alongside Austin Butler in a flashy reboot of the classic crime drama Miami Vice, titled Miami Vice ’85.
The film will be directed by Joseph Kosinski and is expected to hit cinemas in August 2027.
