Kate Beckinsale joins Cara Delevingne in wild new comedy-drama project

Hollywood stars are heading deep into the American South as a new dark comedy-drama, Turnbuckle, brings together a seriously star-studded cast.

Kate Beckinsale and Cara Delevingne are among the big names signing up for the upcoming film, alongside Emile Hirsch, Terrence Howard, Evan Ross and Famke Janssen.

The ensemble doesn’t stop there either, with Macy Gray, Sam Strike, Lily Mo Sheen, Randall J. Bacon and Tammin Sursok also joining the cast of what’s being billed as a gritty, darkly comic tale of redemption, survival and small-town chaos.

Writer-director Sean McEwen has now wrapped production in Arkansas, with the movie filmed around Hot Springs National Park. 

The project is being produced by Ross and Greg Carney under their new Film Mafia Entertainment banner.

Evan Ross has already hyped the film, saying: “This is one of those rare films that feels both dangerous and elevated. 

The cast is electric, the tone is fresh, and we believe Turnbuckle will stand out as a prestige film with real cultural impact.”

He also praised the local support, adding that Arkansas provided the “perfect vibe” with its lakes, spas and casino setting helping bring the story to life.

Away from set, Beckinsale has recently spoken candidly about her personal heartbreak, marking the second anniversary of her stepfather Roy Battersby’s death. 

In a moving Instagram post, she admitted she was overwhelmed by “fatigue and sadness”, writing that grief often hits even when you least expect it.

The actress, who has endured multiple family losses over the years, also hit back at online trolls criticising her appearance, explaining her weight loss was linked to emotional trauma and grief.

Despite the struggles, she said she continues to carry her loved ones with her, adding simply: “I miss you so very much.”
