The late night star recently revealed that he has secured a major guest for the show’s closing stretch, announcing that Barack Obama will appear on the May 6 episode.

Sharing the update during a recent taping, the veteran presenter told viewers, "Folks before we get started, I have a quick but exciting announcement."

He added, "Tuesday May 5 here on The Late Show in his first interview from the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, I will be sitting down with former President Barack Obama."

The announcement was later reposted on social media, where the clip was reposted in collaboration with the Obama Foundation.

Adding to the buzz, the foundation commented, “Couch booked. Volume up. Ready to go,” signaling anticipation around the high-profile sit-down.

Stephen and Obama are no strangers to each other, having shared conversations dating back to the host’s The Colbert Report days, along with appearances on CBS in previous years.

The upcoming interview arrives as CBS prepares for the show’s conclusion on May 21, while Obama continues expanding his media presence through new creative ventures alongside Michelle Obama.
