Nicole Kidman has revealed she went to extraordinary lengths to master her role in the hit spy thriller Special Ops: Lioness.
The 58-year-old Hollywood icon admitted that she needed a full team just to decode the script.
The Oscar-winning star spilled the behind-the-scenes secrets at a glitzy New York event celebrating creator Taylor Sheridan, confessing the show’s intense CIA jargon left her feeling like she was “doing a thesis”.
“It’s been incredibly exciting,” Nicole said.
“But we had to understand every single thing we were saying — it has to roll off your tongue like everyday language, even though it’s not!”
The Moulin Rouge! legend, determined to nail her performance, enlisted researchers to break down every complex term in her lines.
And she didn’t stop there as Nicole also teamed up with co-stars Michael Kelly and Morgan Freeman for intense script sessions.
“‘What does that mean? Decipher it. Definition, definition, definition,’” she laughed. “It’s dense!”
Teasing what’s ahead, the Babygirl actress hinted that season three will be more explosive than ever, and incredibly close to real-world events.
“It’s so topical,” she warned.
“You’re constantly treading in minefields… you’ve really got to keep up because it’s hard to follow.”
