Rebel Wilson has recently landed in hot water after Charlotte MacInnes sues the Pitch Perfect actress for defamation in Australia.
In the documents shared to court, The Deb actress accused Rebel for making her life “nightmarish,” per Deadline report.
Charlotte began to give evidence to the court on April 22, but an up-and-coming actress was interrupted because the court was adjourned for the day.
Family and friends close to Charlotte claimed that Rebel’s posts on Instagram and her misconduct affected the young actress.
Hannah Reilly, co-writer of The Deb and creator of the original stage show, revealed that Charlotte told her that the dispute had become an “all-consuming nightmarish force in her life”.
Hannah added that Charlotte become “hardened” by the experience, according to an affidavit seen by Australian Associated Press.
Shoshanna Stone, Charlotte’s’ manager, told the court that she signed the singer after being informed of her talent by Amanda.
Meanwhile, Charlotte’s boyfriend Carlo Boumouglbay explained in his affidavit that Rebel’s conduct “had deeply wounded” his partner.
“She was also fearful because she thought Rebel was monitoring her at all times. She was fearful for her safety and felt vulnerable. Rebel’s posts were really getting to her and breaking her down,” he wrote.
However, Rebel shares that Charlotte was made to feel “uncomfortable” because of The Deb producer Amanda Ghost after they shared a bath in 2023.
The Senior Year actress further said that Charlotte withdrew the complaint after being given career opportunities by Amanda.
It is pertinent to note that Charlotte reportedly denies the claims.
