Music world mourns Traffic's Dave Mason dead at 79

The music world is mourning the death of veteran musician, Dave Mason who departed at the age of 79.

Tributes showered as other singers and fans recalled the legend and co-founder of Traffic.

Co-stars noted him as an an incredible guitarist and a man who punched "lasting imprint on the soundtrack of our lives."

A touching testament was made by Stephen Bishop, who remembered that in the early seventies, he performed with Mason.

"I remember how incredibly talented he was," wrote Bishop. "He was always kind to me and an incredible guitar player. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans."

There were thousands of messages on the official social media paying condolence to his family. 

One of the posts referred to his death as a storybook ending, he died in his favorite chair after making supper with his wife, Winifred.

The post said, "His legacy will be cherished forever."

Extensive obituaries about the prolific career of Mason were published in which he played acoustic guitar on the Jimi Hendrix All Along the Watchtower.

Moreover, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the year 2004 as a founding member of Traffic.

Comment sections were overwhelmed with remembrances of his solo hits, such as We Just Disagree and Only You Know and I Know.

Mason passed away on April 19 in his Gardnerville, Nevada home.
