Tory Lanez has submitted a filing against the California Prison System after their failure to protect him from a fellow inmate’s attack.
The rapper, whose real name is Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, is serving a 10-year sentence for infamously shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020 at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
In May of 2025, the Canadian singer was attacked by an alleged assailant and fellow convict Santino Casio 16 times in the head, face, torso and back with a handmade weapon.
As per TMZ, the plaintiff has now filed a lawsuit against the prison warden and around a 50 correctional officers as defendants.
Tory argued that they placed him in danger by housing him with the offender who was serving life in prison for murder with a history of prison-based assaults.
The filing added that they exhibited a "deliberate indifference to foreseeable violence" with these actions and is demanding a whopping $100 million in damages.
Tory also claimed that the guards also failed to use necessary intervention tactics to end the dangerous attack quickly.
Notably, another added layer to the suit is the confiscation of the Lady of Namek singer’s song books of unpublished lyrics along with notes with his lawyers also being demanded back after allegedly being taken by the authorities.
