D4vd’s attorney issues first statement after singer's arrest

David Burke has recently been arrested amid the ongoing investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department into the minor Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s case, whose dismembered remains were found in his car.

The Romantic Homicide singer is being held without bail, but has yet to be charged by prosecutors as the case is yet to be presented to the District Attorney’s office.

In a statement to People, the 21-year-old’s lawyers Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter maintained his innocence in the case.

“Let us be clear - the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” they stated.

"There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence,” the attorneys added.

David has been arrested in the Hollywood Hills on a probable cause warrant and images from the occasion were released by the LAPD.

It showed armed officers with the Robbery-Homicide and Gang and Narcotics divisions outside a home carrying out the act.
