Jessie Ware has revealed she’s taking a page out of Lady Gaga’s book as she prepares for the biggest tour of her career yet.
The 41-year-old pop favourite is gearing up to hit arenas following the release of her new album Superbloom, and she admits she’s been watching how global superstar Gaga commands massive crowds.
Jessie said: “Gaga connects in arenas. Maybe I’m going to have to have a B-stage or get into the crowd, but I’ll find a way. I will try and bring that intimacy, vocals, pizzazz – all of it.”
The singer described the upcoming tour as feeling “hyper-surreal, majestic and mad”, and opened up about how long her journey to this point has taken.
Reflecting on her steady rise, she said: “I love the journey that I’ve been on. It shows how long it can take to build a community. I’m on my sixth record and the fact we’re still getting bigger and better is really exciting.”
Jessie also spoke honestly about life in her forties, saying she feels more grounded and confident than ever, especially as her children become more independent.
She explained that this new phase has allowed her to reconnect with herself.
“It is that reclaiming of your sexual identity, needs, wants,” she said, adding that she’s also rethinking how she sees her body after years of motherhood.
Calling her forties a “really interesting time”, Free Yourself hitmaker said she feels caught between reflection and excitement for what’s still to come.
“It’s a sweet spot where you want to cram in as much fun as possible,” she said.
“It’s a frenzied time – but in the best way.”
