Cher has submitted a new filing aiming to gain conservatorship over her son Elijah Blue Allman after the latter’s recent arrests and mental health problems.
The iconic singer shared the 49-year-old with the late musician Gregg Allman, and the Deadsy frontman has been dealing with drug abuse issues ever since he was young.
As per People, in the latest petition filed by the Believe singer earlier this week in Los Angeles Superior Court the 79-year-old detailed why she wanted to gain the position.
The mother-of-two alleged that Elijah "has no concept of money" and "is unable to manage his financial resources and is unable to withstand fraud or undue influence" due to his "severe mental health and addiction issues."
Cher claimed that he "spends any money he gets immediately,” almost always on "drugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation."
Allman, according to documents is currently in custody in New Hampshire in a psychiatric hospital as officials attempt to restore him to health so he can be competent enough to face criminal charges for crimes such as felony burglary criminal mischief, simple assault, criminal trespass and breach of bail.
Cher added that the guitarist is also in several debts regarding income tax, unpaid spousal support as well as money owed to a drug dealer.
