Why is Erica Campbell facing backlash over 25th wedding anniversary?

Erica Campbell is undergoing criticism over the Internet following her 25th marriage anniversary.

This happened when her sister Tina Campbell announced that her husband was divorcing her.

The gospel singer told that she and her husband, Warryn Campbell, will renew their "love, family, commitment, and all God has done." 

The American singer and songwriter even invited fans to assist her in getting the right dress to wear to the event.

It was the time when the 54-year-old crooner announced that raised eyebrows of the audience. 

A day before, the court records acquired by People disclosed that Tina was divorced by her husband Teddy Campbell on the that basis of irreconcilable differences.

Since June 2024, the couple separated, although they were married on August 12, 2000.

Tina and Teddy Campbell have two children Santana, 13 and Glendon Theodore II, 16.

Erica responded to the backlash in follow-up posts, saying: "Thank you all for the love and submissions." noting, "Y'all have made this decision so hard in the best way."

Both Erica and Tina Campbell have not made any additional statements about the timings of the announcements.

In 2001, Erica and Warryn Campbell got married. Tina Campbell is most recognized as one-half of the Grammy-winning gospel duo Mary Mary with Erica.
