A planned concert by Kanye West in Poland has been officially cancelled following mounting backlash over his past antisemitic statements.
The performance, which was scheduled to take place in June at a major stadium in Chorzów, was scrapped after authorities and venue officials raised serious concerns about hosting the controversial artist.
According to Daily Mail, the decision was influenced by both public pressure and Poland’s historical context, particularly its connection to the Holocaust.
Poland’s culture minister publicly criticised the planned event, arguing that the country could not treat such performances as ordinary entertainment given West’s past remarks and actions.
Moreover, officials highlighted that Poland was the site of Nazi atrocities during World War II, making the issue especially sensitive.
The cancellation adds to a growing list of challenges facing the rapper across Europe.
As per the outlet, in recent weeks, several countries have taken steps to block or reconsider his performances, with concerns centred on his previous comments praising Adolf Hitler and promoting antisemitic rhetoric.
Although West issued a public apology earlier this year, attributing his behaviour to mental health struggles, the backlash has continued to impact his international tour plans.
Despite the controversy, the artist has continued performing in other regions, including the United States and Mexico.
