Ice Spice responds to McDonald’s incident with serious legal action

Ice Spice is taking legal action after a viral McDonald’s altercation escalated into a police case.

A complaint has now been lodged with the Los Angeles Police Department, according to her legal team, after the April 15 incident that went viral on April 17 via TMZ.

The footage shows the 26-year-old rapper, born Isis Naija Gaston, seated alongside a friend when a female customer approached and initiated a dispute that grew following continued questions about her background.

The encounter became physical after the woman allegedly slapped Ice Spice, resulting in a short chaotic scuffle before the parties were pulled apart by a man with the attacker.

Following this, the artist’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, stated they are pursuing legal action against those involved.

"The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all criminal and civil avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions."

Moreover, Cohen added potential liability concerns regarding the venue’s security measures and addressed the circulation of the footage online.

"The individuals obviously did not realize that we would get the video from inside the McDonald's where the unprovoked attack occurred." 

Furthermore, Ice Spice’s legal representative pointed out, "They then turned their cameras on after the initial attack as if to set our client up, and as they say on the video to 'go viral.' The only thing that will be going viral for them is their mugshots."
