'Game of Thrones' actor Michael Patrick dies

Michael Patrick has passed away at the age of 35, sparking sadness among fans.

Based on latest reports, the Irish star breathed his last on April 7, Tuesday, following a battle with Motor Neuron Disease.

On Wednesday, April 8, his wife, Naomi Sheehan, via her official Instagram handle, shared the tragic update, revealing that he had been in hospice care before his passing.

She wrote, “Last night, Mick sadly passed away in the Northern Ireland Hospice. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease 1st February 2023.”

She continued, “He was admitted 10 days ago and was cared for by the incredible team there. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends.”

She also reflected on his life and legacy, adding, “Words can’t describe how broken-hearted we are...We are so grateful for every person who supported us through the last few years.”

Moreover, she added, “Mick loved this quote from Brendan Behan and this feels appropriate now: ‘The most important things to do in the world are to get something to eat, something to drink and somebody to love you.’ So, don’t overthink it. Eat. Drink. Love.”

According to the MND Association, the condition rapidly affects the nerves responsible for movement, causing muscles to stop working. It currently has no cure.

Notably, in his final IG update earlier this year, Patrick marked three years since his diagnosis, sharing that despite being told he had limited time, he still had “lots to live for and lots planned.”
