Lamar Odom has revealed that he won’t be tuning in to the new Untold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom.
The 46-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers star, who nearly died from a 2015 overdose, admitted the thought of revisiting that trauma is simply too much as he continues his battle with addiction recovery.
It drags him back into the darkest chapter of his life.
Speaking candidly, Lamar explained that for anyone trying to heal, looking back can be dangerous.
He compared the experience to “swimming in a cesspool of trauma”, adding that every retelling risks pulling him under again.
The ex-basketball ace, once married to reality star Khloe Kardashian, also opened up about their strained relationship.
Despite her appearance in the documentary, Lamar revealed the pair haven’t spoken since an awkward reunion on The Kardashians in 2025.
“It didn’t really go well,” he admitted, suggesting tensions were still raw.
However, he was quick to acknowledge Khloe’s feelings, saying he understands the pain he caused during their turbulent marriage.
For those unfamiliar the couple famously tied the knot just one month after meeting in 2009 before divorcing in 2016.
But Lamar insists he has no regrets about their whirlwind romance.
If anything, he says he would only change his past behaviour, not the relationship itself.
Now focused on rebuilding his life, Lamar is determined to move forward for the sake of his children and loved ones.
And while he may be avoiding his own story on screen, he hopes his journey will still inspire others battling addiction to believe recovery is possible.
