Barack Obama spills details on why he quit coaching daughter Sasha’s basketball team

Former US president, Barack Obama, revealed in his memoit A Promise Land that he was forced to leave coaching his daughter Sasha's basketball team after facing objections.

Obama was coaching Sasha’s fourth grade basketball team and he had to quit it after receiving complaints from parents.

Barack wrote in his autobiography about watching chaotic games. 

He stated, “Nothing compared to the thrill — and stress — of rooting for Sasha’s fourth grade rec league team. The girls seemed to have as much fun as we did” during practices — even if things sometimes got a little “too intense," the former president noted.

However, he ran into a controversy as the parents of the other team at daughter Sasha’s school protested for having the president as a coach.

“They must think being coached by you is something they can put on a Harvard application,” Barack recalled. £I decided it would be simpler for all concerned if I went back to just being a fan,” he added.

“Every parent savors such moments, I suppose, when the world slows down, your strivings get pushed to the back of your mind, and all that matters is that you are present, fully, to witness the miracle of your child growing up. Given all the time I’d missed with the girls over years of campaigning and legislative sessions, I cherished the normal ‘dad stuff’ that much more,” Barack further added.
