Olivia Munn candidly shared the strength of cancer tips that Shannen Doherty had offered before her death.

The woman of the week, the 45-year-old actress was crowned Woman of the Year at Beverly Hilton hotel on Friday, where she disclosed the best advice she got through Doherty after she had been diagnosed with breast cancer herself.

Munn told the audience, reflecting on the relationship she developed with the Beverly Hills 90210 star only months before the death of Doherty in July 2024, that she was directed by the deceased on being so aggressive.

The mother of two described her miserable health struggle as a risk assessment test, although clearly showing an uneventful mammogram and zero percent with a genetic test in January 2023, made her obtain an MRI.

In April, John Mulaney's wife was found to have invasive Luminal B cancer in both breasts.

The Predator artist has since been through five surgeries with the last being completed in March 2024. Instead of victimization, Munn believes she is lucky.

The star now thinks of cancer as something she simply could not believe she experienced.

“There’s no place in my mind to think about how things are unfair. I just think thank God I’m one of the lucky ones.”

She has also been transformed emotionally by the experience. “I used to be really tough … but I had to drop the armour,” she admitted. “I’m so much stronger the more vulnerable I am.”

Munn currently collaborates with Sen. Mark Kelly to ensure that her life time risk assessment test becomes standard care of all women.
