Barry Keoghan opened up about his experience watching Hamnet and the impact Jessie Buckley has left on him.

Ahead of the Academy Awards week, the Saltburn actor speaking about Buckley’s performance said that he "couldn’t stop crying."

In an interview on the RTÉ Radio 1, he said that The Bride! star was more than deserving of her Best Actress nomination for Chloé Zhao’s drama.

Praising her and Paul Mescal's performance in the movie, he said, "I've seen Hamnet, her and Paul are incredible."

"Paul invited me, and I couldn’t stop crying watching that movie. It was absolutely touching and gorgeous," he added.

The Peaky Blinders actor who had previously worked with Chloe Zhao, director of Hamnet, on Marvel’s Eternals, described the film as "beautiful."

Buckley stars as Agnes Shakespeare in Hamnet, opposite Mescal as William Shakespeare. The film tells a story of love, grief and loss that helped inspire Hamlet.

The film and Buckley both are on a winning streak with Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG.

It has also been nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress.

Oscars ceremony will be held on March 15.
