Ghetts has been sentenced to time in prison for the fatal hit-and-run of a 20-year-old student Yubin Tamang on the 18th of October last year.
The award-winning rapper, whose real name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, was sentenced at the at the Old Bailey after he admitted to being the reason behind the death of the Nepali student.
Judge Mark Lucraft KC stated that the CCTV footage of the incident showed a "quite appalling litany of incidents" which resulted in the deadly collision and were "simply shocking".
Justin had been drinking and driving and was quite over the legal limit, ran a number of traffic lights that day and had even collided with two other vehicles after driving onto a kerb, all before hitting Yubin and causing catastrophic injuries to his body.
The young boy’s family put in a statement "We speak today with hearts broken beyond repair. Our only child, a precious soul, has been taken from us far too soon. Justin Clarke-Samuel has stolen our son's future and ours with it... we can never forgive him for what he has done."
Notably, Justin has apologised for the crime and expressed extreme regret, shame and remorse for the unintentional act.
