Jennifer Garner reflects on challenges of co-parenting with Ben Affleck

Jennifer Garner opened up about raising kids after the collapse of her marriage with Ben Affleck.

Garner and Affleck met on the set of 2001’s Pearl Harbor, but didn’t spark a romantic relationship until 2004, after starring alongside in the 2003 film Daredevil.

They tied the knot in 2005 and called quits in 2015. The couple share three children, two daughters Violet Anne, Fin (formerly Seraphina Rose) and a son, Samuel Garner.

During her recent appearance in the One Nightstand podcast, the Elektra star weighed in on the challenges one face while raising children as single parent.

"When your kids grow up in two separate households, I become mom and dad, and he becomes dad and mom," said Garner.

She said explained why it was vital for both of them to play both sides is because "you don’t have the benefit of both sides, the yin and yang being in the same house, so you have to have a bit of both in the way you parent."

The Alias star added that while there is a sense of loss in it, there is also something to be gained. 

She explained that the experience has taught her to let go and not focus so much on the bringing up.

Following Affleck's divorce with Jennifer Lopez, whom he married in 2022 and part ways in 2025, a source close to him told Fox News Digital that the Argo star had been enjoying time away from spotlight.

They said he was relishing quality time with Garner and their three children.
