Spider-Man: Brand New Day has released its first official synopsis sharing some key details about what's next in the life of Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) life.

In the previous film, No Way Home, Peter made an ultimate sacrifice, by asking Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a spell to make everyone forget that Peter Parker exists to stop the multiverse from collapsing.

For the upcoming film, the synopsis came from a description of the book Spider-Man: Brand New Day - The Art Of The Movie from the Penguin Random House website.

It states: "Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighbourhood hero. Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at top of his game keeping New York City safe."

"Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into a web of mystery larger than he’s ever faced before."

In order to confront what lies ahead, Spider-Man must be at peak of his physical and mental strength and be ready to deal with the consequences of his past actions.

While the synopsis has been revealed the fans are still waiting for an official trailer.

The director Destin Daniel Cretton, in an interview with Big Gold Belt Media, assured the fans that the trailer will be "really good" and "it's coming."

In addition to Holland, Zendaya as Michelle "MJ" Jones, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, who first appeared in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Sadie Sink will be starring in an unannounced role, along with Mark Ruffalo as Hulk/Bruce Banner and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release on July 31.
