Daniel Radcliffe shared how and his Harry Potter co-stars, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint almost got starred in an unusual film.

In his appearance at the Hot Ones, the Now You See Me 2 actor revealed that he and his pals were pitched for Wizard of Oz during the heyday of the wizarding movies.

He called it as one of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard and went on to share details saying, "they wanted to cast all three of us, me, Emma and Rupert, in a remake of Wizard of Oz."

He said that Emma was supposed to play Dorothy and he was meant to be "the lion but also he knew karate."

While the Jungle actor was unable to recalls, Grint's part in it, he added "I was like 14 or 15 and I was like, 'I don’t know a lot about the world, but this is a bad idea and it should not be made.'"

The movie was eventually scrapped with Hollywood returning to the Oz world in 2013, with Sam Raimi's prequel movie Oz the Great and Powerful.

James Franco headlined the film in the title role opposite Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz as the witches of Oz.

Meanwhile, Radcliffe continued with Potter films from 2002 to 2013, and reunited with the cast in 2022 for Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
